In the first meeting between Kansas and Nebraska the game took an ugly, defensive direction that nearly landed the Huskers a win in Lawrence. The second meeting between the two took a turn in the other direction and any time Kansas can get involved in a game where their offense is clicking, the Jayhawks are tough to beat.
Kansas was without the services of freshman guard Josh Selby due to injury and his replacement Brady Morningstar along with another Kansas senior, Tyrel Reed, led the charge.
Morningstar and Reed combined for 33 points including 8 three pointers. More and more it’s becoming the case that when the two Kansas natives are hitting from outside, Kansas becomes very difficult to beat.
On the interior the Morris twins started slow but made their typical solid contribution with a total of 33 points and 8 rebounds between the two. Kansas wins one final Big 12 game in Lincoln 86-66 leaving the overall record for Kansas against Nebraska in Lincoln at 63-44. The Jayhawks close out the series for now with a 17 game winning streak dating back to 2004.
