Tyshawn Taylor's Suspension From KU Basketball Is Over, Bill Self Confirms

Tyshawn Taylor's suspension is over.

One week after Kansas Jayhawks head coach Bill Self announced Taylor was suspended, he's back with the team. Self confirmed to Brady McCollough of the Kansas City Star on Tuesday night that Taylor will be reinstated and will be in uniform for Wednesday night's game against Texas A&M.

Though it's been just over one week, it seems that it's been so much longer. That's because Elijah Johnson stepped into his place and played well. So well, Self said on Monday, that it would be Johnson -- and not Taylor -- who would be the starting point guard if the NCAA tournament opened this week.

"In my mind, if we were gonna play a NCAA Tournament game tomorrow. Elijah Johnson would be our starting point guard."

Taylor won't be starting upon his return, though. It's Senior Night so those honors will go to senior Mario Little. It will be interesting, though, to see how Self works both Taylor and Johnson in. The name "Wally Pipp" has come up a few times and it's possible we're seeing a situation like that.
