All-Big 12 Rookie Team: Missouri's Ricardo Ratliffe, Texas' Tristan Thompson

The 2011 All-Big 12 rookie team is out and there aren't a ton of surprises on the list. Here's the full team:

Baylor Bears F/C Perry Jones III, Missouri Tigers F Ricardo Ratliffe, Oklahoma State Cowboys F Jean-Paul Olukemi, Texas Longhorns G Cory Joseph and Texas Longhorns F Tristan Thompson.

Two of these players -- Jones III and Thompson -- were unanimous selections.

Ratliffe was also selected as the Big 12 newcomer of the year while Thompson was the Big 12's freshman of the year. Both, in my opinion, are excellent choices.

Jones III was expected to be good and he was averaging over 13 points and seven boards per game. Ratliffe made an immediate impact with the Tigers and was one of their most consistent players throughout the season. Thompson, as well, has appeared all over these postseason awards.

The best newcomer out of the group? It's hard to pick but I watched Missouri more than any other team on that list so I know the impact Ratliffe made.

At the beginning of the season we would have picked Josh Selby to be on this team but he sat our early in the season and never really made an impact after coming back from injury a few weeks ago.
