Big 12 Tournament Schedule: Texas' First Game Will Be Oklahoma

The Texas Longhorns first game in the 2011 Big 12 tournament will come against the Oklahoma Sooners. Most of us were expecting to see Baylor in this spot but the Bears, after hearing freshman Perry Jones III was now ineligible to play, were upset by Oklahoma, 84-67.

That means Oklahoma will face the task of beating the team that sat atop the conference standings for much of the season. Texas has lost their of their last five games after starting the conference season undefeated.

They'll be favored in this game but there has to be some concern after watching Oklahoma shoot 57 percent from the field against Baylor. Texas is the better team but any team in the conference would have had some trouble with the Oklahoma team that played on Wednesday.

This will be the third game of the day after Oklahoma State-Kansas and Colorado-Kansas State. The Longhorns and Sooners will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. (CT) on Thursday.

Your SB Nation blogs for this game will be Burnt Orange Nation and Crimson and Cream Machine.
