Marcus And Markieff Morris Reportedly Close To Signing With Agent

As far as I can tell, this is not an April Fools Day joke. If it is, then it's a good one. And by "good", I mean very annoying.

Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Kansas Jayhawks big men Marcus and Markieff Morris appear to be close to signing with agent Jason Martin. The Morris twins met with Martin on Wednesday, according to the report.

This is confusing because someone made a fake ESPN page that five KU players -- including the Morris twins -- are going pro. This Yahoo! report does not appear to be fake.

We've been waiting to hear whether anyone from the KU basketball team will leave school early and head to the NBA. Obviously the Morris twins are at the top of that list. Kansas head coach Bill Self said this week that he'll have discussions with players that might make the leap after the Final Four.

"They need some time to unwind and I do, too," Self said. "It would not surprise me if a couple of guys or even more put their name in the hat. But certainly, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't. It's kind of up in the air. There's a lot to think about and talk about."

If this is accurate, and they're likely headed to the league, then Kansas is taking a big blow. It's hard to replace a combined 30 points and 16 boards per game, especially with their size. They allowed Kansas to do a lot of things this year. But, Kansas always seems to reload. If the Morris twins do indeed leave, then it'll be interesting to see what happens with Thomas Robinson who is also reportedly considering a jump to the NBA.

Marcus is generally considered the better prospect (though I'm not sure if that should be the case) and I could see him going in the middle of the first round. Markieff may go after him but not too far behind.

We'll see what they decide to do. I know KU fans would like to have them back.
