It's rare to hear a writer praising a college player at a mostly high school workout, but that's exactly the case for KU's Thomas Robinson. As Reggie Rankin of ESPN.com checks in from the road from the LeBron James Skills Academy, it's Robinson that he's raving about from the college workout section. In fact, Robinson is the only player he writes about:
In the college workout, Thomas Robinson of the Kansas Jayhawks was very impressive with his energy and effort on both ends. He rebounded and finished above the rim in heavy traffic. Robinson was fun to watch compete. Bill Self would have been proud.
Robinson is expected to take that major step forward next year in the absence of the Morris twins in the Jayhawks' frontcourt. It sounds as if we should get used to hearing Robinson's name for some time.
