If there was ever a time for the Missouri Tigers to be able to lick their wounds from such a heartbreaking loss at Arizona State, Western Illinois presents just that chance. It’s almost as if the football gods knew James Franklin and company could use a week to tinker with their offense and reload their confidence and presented the Leathernecks on a silver platter. And if you think the Tigers might look past Western Illinois, then you don’t know Mizzou head coach Gary Pinkel.
The reality is that Franklin, Michael Egnew and the rest of the Missouri offense should enjoy their Saturday evening as they take the field at 6pm CT. The Leathernecks have already lost to Sam Houston State, so everyone is expecting a lopsided affair. The Tigers are currently 30 point favorites according to 5Dimes.
