Thomas Robinson and Travis Releford combined for 31 points as the Kansas Jayhawks captured their first conference victory 67-49 over Kansas State. The Jayhawks jumped out to a big 23-5 lead in front of a loud crowd at the Phog and cruised to the win.

Both Thomas Robinson and Travis Releford logged double-doubles for the Jayhawks. Robinson finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds while Releford finished with 16 points and 11 boards. Tyshawn Taylor added 13 points and three assists.

Rodney McGruder led the Wildcats with 15 points and Jamar Samuels finished with 12. The Wildcats struggled with shot selection in the first half which helped lead them to less than 30 percent shooting in the first half. Kansas State shot just 31 percent overall and didn't help themselves at the free throw line where they made just 8-16 in the game.
