Bracketology 2012: Can Kansas, Missouri And Kansas State Hang On To Projected Top Seeds?

Believe it or not but two months from now we will be feverishly preparing to join bracket pools, illegally wagering money and trying to figure out which mid-major will ruin everyone else's bracket while you emerge victorious.

Excuse me while I wipe the sweat from my brow, I got a tad excited just thinking about filling out my brackets for the 15th consecutive year. (Even though I've never won a bracket pool in my life.)

In the first release of SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean's bracketology projection, the Big 12 would look to place four teams in a top-4 seed bracket. While the undefeated Baylor Bears would project as a No. 1 seed, teams like the Missouri Tigers (No. 2), Kansas Jayhawks (No. 3) and Kansas St. Wildcats (No. 4) could all look to keep their potential seeding or improve as the season goes along.

The likelihood is that these four Big 12 teams will all beat up on each other in conference play, but by this projection each team has been rewarded for their impressive non-conference play and strength of schedule, which will surely help with the final brackets are released in nine weeks.
