The Kansas Jayhawks come in at No. 7 on The Associated Press preseason poll that was released Friday morning, with Missouri also getting into the Top 25 at No. 15.

The Jayhawks, who finished the 2011-12 season at No. 6 in the AP and coaches polls, lost to Kentucky in the National Championship game in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Kansas would finish the season with a 32-7 record, having beaten North Carolina and Ohio State in the tournament to reach the final game.

Missouri, meanwhile, finished No. 2 in the Big 12 standings behind Kansas and ended the season No. 3 in the AP poll with a 30-5 record on the year. Coach Frank Haith, in his first season with the Tigers, earned AP Coach of the Year honors as Missouri won the Big 12 tournament in their final season in the conference before moving to the SEC in 2012-13.

The Tigers went on to lose their first game of the NCAA Tournament, a 86-84 defeat against Norfolk State.
