In the 2011-12 season, the Kansas Jayhawks women's basketball team made its best NCAA Tournament run since 1998, advancing to the Sweet 16 before getting knocked out. The Jayhawks were led by Angel Goodrich, who has been named to the Lindy's preseason All-America third team.

Starring for the team last season, Goodrich put up 14 points and 7.4 assists per game for the Jayhawks. The assist mark was the best in the nation, and her 250 total assists set a Big 12 record. Goodrich, a senior, was one of four Big 12 players to make the Lindy's team. The three other Big 12 members of the team play for the defending national champion Baylor Lady Bears. Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims earned first team honors, and Destiny Williams was named to the third team.

Goodrich and the Jayhawks will start the 2012-13 season on Oct. 28 against the Washburn Lady Blues in Lawrence, Kan.
