Lincoln High School shooting guard Isaiah Whitehead has the Kansas Jayhawks on his list of 10 schools he's considering, according to his player blog at ZagsBlog.com. The 6'4, 195 pound Whitehead is listed as a four-star recruit by ESPN and Scout.com, and he is also a top-10 player at his position.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., native lists Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Arizona, Rutgers, Syracuse, St. John's, UCLA, Florida and Louisville as his potential destinations.
Whitehead said on ZagsBlog.com that he is closely watching each of his schools of interest to learn their playing styles. He added that he enjoyed an unofficial visit to the Bruins and also a Syracuse development camp. Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim apparently visited Whitehead at Lincoln, the player writes.
He said that he would likely not take any visits during his high school season.
Whitehead is the most recent high profile recruit coming out of Lincoln High School. The team has produced NBA players Stephon Marbury, Sebastian Telfair and Lance Stephenson.
