A pair of Kansas Jayhawks women's basketball players have landed on the 2012-13 Naismith Women's Early Season Watch List, announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
Carolyn Davis and Angel Goodrich join eight other Big 12 women's players on the 50-player list that is compiled based on last season's performance combined with expectations for the 2012-13 season. The Jayhawks are joined by last year's award winner Brittney Griner of Baylor, Odyssey Sims of Baylor, Iowa State's Chelsea Poppens, Aaryn Ellenberg and Whitney Hand of Oklahoma and Chassidy Fussell of Texas.
Davis, a 6'3 senior forward, was a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention and All-Big 12 First Team player for the Jayhawks last season.
Goodrich, who led the nation in assists with 7.4 per game, had an impressive 2011-12 campaign as well. The senior was a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, and Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention and was named ti to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
The award will be presented on April 8, 2013.
