The Kansas Jayhawks are one of three teams on the list of basketball prospect Joel Embiid, Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv reports. Embiid has narrowed his collegiate choices down to Kansas, Texas and Florida.
The 7'0, 220-pound center prospect from the Rock School in Gainesville, Fla., has only been playing basketball for two years, but has obviously done enough to draw interest from the top programs in the nation. A Cameroon native, Embiid also had visits from Marquette and Virginia while also drawing interest from schools such as Wake Forest, UCLA, George Washington, DePaul and SMU.
Rivals ranks Embiid as a four-star prospect. He's being assisted in the recruiting process by fellow Cameroon native and Milwaukee Bucks player Luc Mbah a Moute, Zagoria reported. Last week, Mbah a Moute told the Racine (Wis) Journal-Times that Embiid is looking for a chance to play extensive minutes right away, which will help as he develops his skills.
