Coming off of a successful season that saw a run to the NCAA Title Game, the No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks will open their 2012-13 campaign against the Southeast Missouri State Indians in the first game of the CBE Hall Of Fame Classic on Friday.
Kansas has won 40 straight openers at the Allen Fieldhouse and are the heavy favorites to make it 41 straight on Friday night. They have also won their opener, regardless of location, 10 seasons in a row. They returned three starters from their finals team last season and brought in nine freshman, leaving a young team for Bill Self to try and lead to another deep tournament run at the end of the year.
Southeast Missouri State has never played the Jayhawks before, but Kansas has never lost a game against a current member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
The game will be at Allen Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. CT.
