The Kansas Jayhawks improved to 7-1 on Saturday after dismantling the Colorado Buffaloes 90-54 -- and Kevin Young was once again a big part of Kansas' success.
Young shot 8 for 9 for 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of playing time. Needless to say, Kansas head coach Bill Self had some high praise for Young.
Self was addressing full-court pressure situations, and said this of his senior forward.
Kevin (Young) is the best we have. Kevin can disrupt things just by doing stuff on his own; full-court pressure, I thought he did a great job of that tonight, too."
Young has had his two highest scoring outputs in his last two games, scoring 10 points during Kansas' 84-78 win over Oregon State, before adding 16 points against Colorado.
On the season, Young is averaging 6.3 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game in just 18.6 minutes per game.
Self will look to see more improvement from Young this weekend, when Kansas plays host to the Belmont Bruins. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Saturday night.
