Due to a conflict with the upcoming NFL Playoffs, the Kansas Jayhawks' upcoming showdown with the Temple Owls has been moved to a 3:30 p.m. CT tip-off according to an official release by the team.
Set to air nationally on CBS, the tip time was ultimately shifted to account for the network's AFC Wild Card Round coverage of the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon. With the football game scheduled to kick off at noon, coverage of the Jayhawks and Owls will immediate follow the game barring any delays or a lengthy overtime period.
Bill Self's Jayhawks enter the weekend with 29 consecutive home victories at Allen Fieldhouse, a mark that ranks second in all of college basketball. Kansas also sits at No. 6 in both the AP and Coaches Polls at the moment, and should be more than prepared to slow down a Temple squad that sports a 9-2 record on the season. Sunday's game will represent the Jayhawks' final non-conference opponent of the regular season, as Self's team will begin Big 12 play with Iowa State on Jan. 9.
