Kansas vs. Colorado preview: Jayhawks to get stiff test

After cruising through a relatively easy portion of their non-conference schedule, Kansas will face their biggest challenge since their loss to Michigan State on Saturday.

For a team as talented as the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks, there was nothing too difficult about playing five consecutive home or neutral court games against unranked teams.

On Saturday, they will play their first difficult opponent since their narrow 67-64 loss to Michigan State in Atlanta in the first week of the season.

While Colorado is unranked, they come into Lawrence with a 7-1 record and two signature wins over likely NCAA Tournament teams in Baylor and Murray State.

The Buffaloes are led by two future NBA players in 6'7 swing forward Andre Roberson and 6'5 combo guard Spencer DinWiddie, and they have an excellent coach in Tad Boyle.

But while they have the athletes to match up with Kansas on the perimeter, they don't have the size to handle Jeff Withey up front. Saturday's game could be an excellent opportunity for the seven-footer to showcase his improved low post game.

The 2:00 p.m. game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
