National Signing Day: Charlie Weis Finds Another Quarterback As Jayhawks Pick Up Turner Baty

After visiting Lawrence over the week, junior college quarterback Turner Baty has made his decision to join the Kansas football program when he gave Charlie Weis and staff a verbal commitment on Tuesday.

Baty, 6'2" 225 lbs comes from City College of San Francisco, and according to Rivals.com, the Jayhawks were his lone offer. The three-star did have interest from many big time programs, including Big 12 foe Oklahoma.

The pro-style quarterback tallied quite the stats on the field in 2011, throwing for 3,149 yards and 22 touchdown passes.

Baty will have three season of eligibility once he arrives, as he will likely be behind recent transfer Dayne Crist of Notre Dame, and Jake Heaps of BYU.

Originally from New Canaan, Connecticut, Baty lead his high school team to a state title in high school while garnering All-State honors. You can check out footage of him from high school on youtube.

Also of note, cornerback Sean Draper of Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio has verbaled to the University of Iowa. Draper had visited KU over the weekend before choosing the Hawkeyes.
