The Kansas Jayhawks had little trouble getting their 20th win of the season as they defeated the Oklahoma St. Cowboys, 81-66. Kansas' first half was tremendous as they came out shooting the ball well and ended up having a 27-point lead at the break. Oklahoma State did close the gap some in the second half, but they never could get within 15 points of Kansas.
Kansas had all five starters score in double figures with Thomas Robinson leading the way with 24 points and 14 rebounds and Jeff Withey contributed with 18 points and 20 rebounds.
The offensive outbreak could have been motivation since the 1952 Kansas national title team was being honored on Saturday. The 1952 team was the schools third national title and there was a ceremony at the half which included former players as well as Clyde Lovellatte who was the 1952 Final Four Most Outstanding Player.
