College Basketball Rankings: Kansas, Missouri Both In Top 5

The two arch-rivals are both ranked in the top 5 for the first time this season, but both have hurdles to clear this week before a Feb. 25 rematch.

With both No. 3 Missouri and No. 5 Kansas taking care of business in the Big 12 last week, the stage is set for a rematch of the Tigers epic 74-71 comeback in Columbia next week in Lawrence on Feb. 25.

The last regular season basketball game between the two arch-rivals before Missouri departs to the SEC could be one of the biggest games in Big 12 history, as the two teams, both rated in the top 5 in the USA Today coaches poll for the first this year, face off with the Big 12 title and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament on the line.

Baylor, which had been the pre-season favorite in the conference, slipped to No. 10 after losing 72-57 on Missouri on Saturday and falling to 0-4 against the Jayhawks and the Tigers this year.

However, both will be tested in Big 12 play this week, as Missouri hosts a dangerous Oklahoma State team on Feb. 15 while Kansas has to travel to Manhattan to play Kansas State on Monday night.
