Kansas Jayhawks center Jeff Withey is the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week after the 7-0 junior put up huge numbers in KU wins over Baylor and Oklahoma State. Against Baylor, Whitey had a career best 25 points as well as five rebounds and three blocks, and had 20 rebounds against the Cowboys, as well as 18 points and seven blocks. The 20 rebounds is only the second such mark from a Big 12 player this season.
↵The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selects the winners each week, and the award is presented by Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook. Whitey was named Big 12 Player of the Week to become eligible for the national award.
