The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket and field has been announced, and the Kansas Jayhawks will receive a No. 2 seed in the Midwest region. The Jayhawks' first opponent will be Detroit, and they will play on Friday in Omaha, Nebraska. If the Jayhawks wins their first matchup, they will face the winner of No.7 St. Mary's and No. 10 Purdue on Sunday.
The Kansas Jawyhawks earned the 2 after/despite losing in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament to Baylor. The Jayhawks put together another sterling regular season, finishing first in the conference on the back of forward Thomas Robinson, who is sure to be a top pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
