2012 NCAA Bracket: Kansas, North Carolina Lands In Midwest Region

After a successful regular season, the Kansas Jayhawks have landed the No. 2 seed in the Midwest region for this year's NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee announced on Sunday. The Jayhawks won the Big 12 regular conference title for the eighth straight season.

The Midwest region should pose numerous challenges for a talented Kansas team. In the first round of the tournament, the Jayhawks will be facing 15-seeded Detroit with the winner moving on to face the winner of No. St. Mary's vs. the No. 10 seeded Purdue in the second round.

The Jayhawks are obviously among the best teams in the division, but the No. 1 seed North Carolina will post the biggest threat to move on to the Final Four.
