After a successful regular season, the Wichita State Shockers have landed the fifth seed in the south region for this year's NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee announced on Sunday. The Shockers earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Missouri Valley Tournament
The South region should pose numerous challenges for a talented Wichita State team. In the first round of the tournament, the Shockers will be facing 12th-seeded VCU, with the winner moving on to likely face No. 4 seeded Indiana in the second round.
If the Shockers have some success early in the tournament, they could eventually face the likes of Kentucky, Duke or Baylor, the region's top-three seeds, in later rounds.
