The predictions are rolling out this morning and the news is looking good for local college basketball fans. Bill Connelly is the SB Nation's college basketball editor and he's predicting major success for the Big 12, landing two of the final four spots in New Orleans. Kansas, he predicts, will even go on to the title game against Kentucky.

He writes, "With North Carolina still a bit of an unknown, the Jayhawks are likely the steadiest team in the region. Tyshawn Taylor could either shoot Kansas to a national title or bumble his way to a loss to Purdue, but Robinson, Taylor and company are still in good shape to make a run here, especially in the St. Louis region."

Connelly has the Jayhawks losing to Kentucky in the final game, but a finals appearance for a team that many believed would be a rebuilding year for Bill Self would be an incredible accomplishment. The Jayhawks have been surprising people all season with their ability to play with anyone despite graduating so many seniors and losing the Morris Twins and Josh Selby to the NBA Draft. This might just be Self's finest hour.
