Kansas State Vs. Baylor Final: Wildcats Fall 82-74 In First Round

Despite losing by only 8 points, Kansas State was never really in their first round Big 12 Tournament game against Baylor on Thursday.

The Wildcats had no answer for Bears star Perry Jones III, who finished with a career-high 31 points on 11-14 shooting while also grabbing 11 rebounds.

However, unless they run into Kentucky, they aren't going to see any 6'11+ 235 forwards with elite ball-handling skills, a vertical jump north of 30 inches as well as a perimeter jumper in the NCAA Tournament.

For Kansas State, the bigger concern is the play of Rodney McGruder, the Wildcats leading scorer who was held to 14 points on 5-13 shooting, as well as a disappointing effort from their bench, who had only two players get into the scoring column.

The bright spot was the play of junior C Jordan Henriquez, who had 22 points and 14 rebounds in one of his best games of the season.
