Kansas entered the Big 12 Tournament in line for a possible No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but may have saw those hopes vanish after suffering an 81-72 upset loss to Baylor in the semifinals. The Jayhawks fell behind 43-35 in the first-half and Baylor had an answer for every run the Jayhawks had in the second half.
For Kansas, Tyshawn Taylor scored a game-high 20 points while Thomas Robinson and Elijah Johnson finished with 15 each. Jeff Withey chipped in 11 points, seven rebounds and five blocks for the Jayhawks.
Baylor had six players with double figure scoring led by Perry Jones III's 18 points. Pierre Jackson and Quincy Miller added 13 each while Brady Heslip and A.J. Walton finished with 12. The Bears advance to take on the winner of the Missouri-Texas matchup on Saturday.
