Kansas Grabs Another Former Notre Dame Player, Tight End Mike Ragone

The Irish refugee camp in Lawrence is getting bigger - tight end Mike Ragone will join quarterback Dayne Crist and linebacker Anthony McDonald on Charlie Weis' new team. Ragone will eligible to play immediately, as he's completed undergraduate course work at Notre Dame. He'll join a Jayhawks squad that was led by a freshman at the tight end position in 2011, Jimmay Mundane.

Ragone was granted a sixth year of eligibility after missing the entire 2008 season and most of 2011 with knee injuries. he played in 37 total games for the Irish. Like McDonald and Crist, he was also recruited to South Bend by Weis, and is now the sixth FBS transfer since Weis took over KU.

Crist will also play immediately because of the graduate transfer clause, and has been named the starting quarterback. McDonald will sit one season due to transfer guidelines and be eligible to play in 2013.
