Fresh off of a strong showing in the 2012 NCAA Tournament that culminated in a loss in the national title game, Kansas Jayhawks star forward Thomas Robinson is also enjoying some rising stock in various mocks for the upcoming 2012 NBA Draft. Robinson is currently projected as the No. 3 overall pick in the latest from NBADraft.net, heading to the New Orleans Hornets in the process.
Robinson comes right after a pair of Kentucky Wildcats teammates, the very team who beat Robinson’s Jayhawks in the final game on Monday. Anthony Davis is widely considered to be the top overall selection with Kentucky guard Marcus Kidd-Gilchrist at No. 2.
Robinson was a unanimous All-American selection for the 2011-12 season with averages of 17.9 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. He also averaged .9 blocks per game. All three were career high averages after three seasons at KU. He finished Monday’s title game with 18 points and 17 rebounds in the losing effort.
