Thomas Robinson To Declare For NBA Draft

Kansas Jayhawks forward Thomas Robinson has played his last game for the team as he is having a 11:30 a.m. CT press conference to announce that he will be forgoing is final year of eligibility and enter the the 2012 NBA Draft. The news was confirmed by Kansas head coach Bill Self who told the news to the Journal-World as well as ESPN's Andy Katz.

The odds of a press conference being held at this time of year to announce anything other than declaring for the NBA Draft would be a surprise. Robinson was one of the leaders for this past years Kansas team that made it all the way to the NCAA title game, and his draft stock has risen at the best possible time. So there is nothing more for him to gain by returning to Kansas for his senior season.

This move was expected since Robinson is being projected as a top-five pick including the most recent SB Nation NBA mock Draft where Robinson is slotted at No. 2 overall to the Washington Wizards.
