2012 NBA Mock Draft: Thomas Robinson Linked To Charlotte Bobcats In Sporting News' Latest

The Sporting News' Sean Deveney has released his first mock draft after the 2012 NBA Draft lottery and Thomas Robinson of Kansas has to like where he ends up: at No. 2 overall to the Charlotte Bobcats. The Kansas forward is often considered among the top players in the draft, but to end up at No. 2 is a nice honor after an incredible year.

Deveney writes, "Hey, this isn't such a bad consolation prize. Robinson broke out in a big way this year, averaging 17.7 points and 11.9 rebounds for Kansas, and there are personnel men out there who feel that if he were a couple of inches taller (he is 6-8 even though KU listed him at 6-10), he would challenge Davis as the top pick."

Robinson took Kansas all the way to the NCAA title game in April against Kentucky and finished behind Davis in the National Player of the Year Award as well. It's fitting he also fits right behind him here and perhaps a subtle rivalry is brewing between the two. Robinson's game will help a Bobcats frontcourt in need of a dynamic all-around player. Perhaps a guard like Bradley Beal is a possibility but this is a nice grab for Charlotte.
