Missouri basketball coach Frank Haith is busy preparing his team for next season and a trip to Europe later this summer but he is still in close contact with former players Kim English and Marcus Denmon who are both hoping to hear their names called in next week's NBA Draft.
Haith recently talked about his program and his former players in an interview with Steve Walentik of the Columbia Tribune. On English and Denmon Haith says he talks with both virtually everyday and after every draft workout. He is also on the phone with several people in NBA front offices who are diligent in checking out players before the draft.
Every day. ... I'm on the phone all the time. Every workout, I talk to people. Kimmie's done very well. He's really done well, which I knew he would. Kimmie stayed here all spring, all summer. He worked out here. He had great focus in his workouts. Everybody I've talked to, he's interviewed well. He's put himself in position. He's had some really good workouts here of late that has really pushed him into really strong conversation to where hopefully, if he doesn't go in the first round, he's definitely, I think, going to get drafted. I feel confident about that.
Marcus, too. I think Marcus had some good workouts, some not so good. But his workouts of late have gotten better. I think both those guys are deserving for opportunities.
