NBA Mock Draft: Sports Guy Bill Simmons And Chad Ford Send Thomas Robison To Sacramento Kings

ESPN has a dual mock draft up with both NBA analyst Chad Ford and Grantland's Bill Simmons, otherwise known as the Sports Guy, for the upcoming 2012 NBA Draft. It's an entertaining read with humor and heated debate back and forth, and it's interesting to see where they believe a player will go. They both have Thomas Robinson as a player that they like for the pro level, and Simmons finally takes him at No. 5 with the Sacramento Kings.

Simmons writes, "You're right, this is crazy ... let's just do something sane. With the fifth pick for Sacramento, I'm taking Thomas Robinson ... a.k.a. the rich man's Carl Landry. Stick him with DeMarcus Cousins and, at the very least, you'll be pounding the boards and making opponents miserable every game."

Later on, Ford says he likes Robinson and writes, "Not only does he have an NBA body and athletic ability, but he's taller than everyone gave him credit for (so we can quit calling him undersized) and I think he plays as hard as anyone in the draft not named MKG. The Kings desperately need players like that, so, of course, this pick will never happen."

Robinson has been listed anywhere from No. 2 to No. 6 in the draft in various mocks.
