Kansas' 87-86 win over Missouri back on Feb. 25 had everything you could want in a basketball game: a well-played game between two of the best teams in the country, a dramatic comeback in the final moments as well as huge implications both on the court (both teams pursuit of a No. 1 seed and the Big 12 championship) and off it (the final meeting between two arch-rivals before the Tigers moved to the SEC).
As a result, it's no surprise the game was nominated for the ESPY's Best Game of The Year. The other two nominees are the St. Louis Cardinals dramatic comeback in Game 6 of the World Series and the San Francisco 49ers shoot-out win over the New Orleans Saints in the NFL Playoffs.
Given the relatively low national profile a regular season college basketball game has compared to the World Series and the NFL playoffs, the Border War game will be a big underdog.
Voting for the ESPY's, which will be broadcast on Wednesday, July 11 is here.
