Tennessee State's football program is enjoying the bounty provided by transfers from bigger programs. In recent days, the school announced that both LSU's Ronnie Vinson and Kansas' Chris Robinson had transferred into the program.
Robinson now has a final destination after being dismissed from the Jayhawks several weeks ago for unspecified violations of team rules. Robinson redshirted last year for the Jayhawks under Turner Gill and new head coach Charlie Weis apparently didn't feel enough of a tie to Robinson to overlook whatever happened.
For Tennessee State, both players should add significant talent to the secondary.
"I think both are welcomed additions to the secondary," said Tennessee State head coach Rod Reed. "We struggled a little bit there last year. We wanted to get size and speed and we did that. We look forward to see how this works out."
Both Robinson and sophomore linebacker Collin Garrett were dismissed from the team at the same time.
