Former Jayhawks forward Darnell Jackson signs with Utah Jazz

Jackson, who spent last season with BC Donetsk of the Ukraine-Superleague, was a member of the Sacramento Kings in his last NBA stint in 2010-11.

Former Kansas Jayhawks forward Darnell Jackson has signed a free agent contract with the Utah Jazz, according to an announcement made by the team on Wednesday.

Jackson, who spent last season with BC Donetsk of the Ukraine-Superleague, signed a non-guaranteed contract, contingent on his making the team. In 35 games in the Ukrainian League, the 6'9 forward averaged 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game. He also appeared in 14 games in the Eurocup and averaged 8.6 points and 3.6 rebounds.

Jackson has played in 138 games in his three-year NBA career, but has been a journeyman of sorts, spending time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings. His most recent NBA stint was in 2010-11 with the Kings, where he played in 59 games and averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game.

The forward also played in the 2012 NBA Las Vegas Summer League and averaged three points and four rebounds in five games for the Sacramento Kings squad.
