Roddy Peters visited Rutgers over the past weekend and will take a trip to UCLA over the first weekend of October, according to Adam Zagoria. Peters is the Rivals.com No. 9 point guard in the class of 2013 and is a player Kansas coach Bill Self wants to bring to Lawrence.
Peters has not yet visited Kansas. Other suitors, besides Rutgers and UCLA, include Xavier – where Peters has already visited – Maryland, and Georgetown.
Peters goes to high school at Suitland High School (Md.) The 6'4 point guard plays his AAU ball for DC Assault. Assault coach Damon Handon says he expects Peters to make a decision early in the fall.
With wing Brannen Greene and gunner Conner Frankemp already committed to the Jayhawks, Self already has a top-rated recruiting class for 2013. Finding a point guard for the class has been a priority: Kansas lost out to North Carolina State for five-star prospect Cat Barber and have extended a scholarship offer to Demetrius Jackson of Indiana.
