Kansas Jayhawks Vs. Kansas State Wildcats: Rivalry Week Kicks Off

Bill Snyder looks to extend his latest Governor's Cup streak against reeling Kansas this Saturday in Manhattan.

Struggling Kansas and surging K-State: Suddenly the Sunflower State Showdown looks like it did for so many years while Bill Snyder was coaching during his first run in Manhattan. The Wildcats, fresh from a comeback win on the road at Texas Tech, could become 7-0 for the first time since 1999 if they can take care of the reeling Jayhawks. Kansas kept Oklahoma respectable for almost three quarters last week before bowing out 47-17.

Kansas leads the all time series between the schools 65-38-5, but Snyder is 15-4 against the Jayhawks in his two terms as head coach of the Wildcats. K State has won the last two in this meeting, and the Jayhawks the last three before that. The Governor's Cup has belonged in Manhattan throughout most of the last two decades, as the Wildcats are 15-5 against Kansas in that span.
