Even though the Kansas St. Wildcats suffered a loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, Kansas State is only expected to drop only six spots to be ranked No. 14 when the latest BCS rankings come out this evening. Being at No. 14 still allows Kansas State to be selected as an at-large team.
The BCS Guru explains why Kansas State was one of the big losers over the weekend:
Kansas State - Clemson lost, too, but at least it's still in line for a spot in the ACC title game and a BCS bowl invitation. The Wildcats not only got exposed as frauds, they have three more ranked opponents the next three consecutive weeks. Never mind the BCS title game or a BCS bowl, this whole magical season may go poof rather quickly.
Those ranked opponents are the Oklahoma St. Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies, so those opponents do allow for Kansas State to move back up in the rankings.
Here are the Week 10 BCS projections:
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma State
4. Stanford
5. Boise State
6. Oklahoma
7. Oregon
8. Arkansas
9. South Carolina
10. Virginia Tech
11. Nebraska
12. Houston
