The USA Today/Coaches Poll has been officially released and it’s clear that the LSU-Alabama flavor atop most projections and polls so far is going to continue throughout everything released this weekend. That sets the stage for the top two SEC powers to also represent the entire nation in the Allstate College Football National Championship Game.
Coming in after those SEC teams are, well, more SEC teams. Well, just one, but it’s amazing to see just how much national voters lose the SEC, giving Arkansas the No. 3 placement in the country. Virginia Tech and Stanford round out the top five, meaning that the Big 12 has no teams in the top five — a feat that no one saw coming before the season began.
The complete USA Today/Coaches Top Ten:
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Arkansas
4. Virginia Tech
5. Stanford
6. Oklahoma State
7. Houston
8. Boise State
9. Oregon
10. Michigan State
