After opening the season with three games against low-major opponents, Kansas State's men's basketball team has their first real challenge of non-conference play Thursday night against the Atlantic 10's George Washington.

The Wildcats are -11 point favorites in a 7:00 PM game against the Colonials at Bramlage Stadium.

Kansas State's back-court of junior Rodney McGruder and sophomore Will Spradling leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 and 13.2 points a game respectively.

Upfront, they have an athletic front-line of 6'7 Jamar Samuels and 7'0 Jordan Henriquez-Roberts, who have combined to average 12.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks this season.

George Washington, at 4-1, was blown out by No. 23 California but has otherwise played well for new head coach Mike Lonergan, whom they hired from Vermont. They retained the majority of a team that finished 17-14 last season, including leading scorer Tony Taylor, a 6'1 senior guard averaging 15.8 points a game.

Thursday's game will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Kansas City and will be carried throughout the state on the K-State Sports Radio Network.
