The rumor making the rounds is that Frank Martin's Kansas State Wildcats will play Bob Huggins and West Virginia at Wichita's Intrust Bank arena. It's not exactly a "rumor" because Huggins himself made the announcement on his weekly radio show, according to the Kansas City Star.
Huggins, who coached K-State during the 2006-07 season, made the announcement during his weekly radio show in Morgantown on Monday after dining with Frank Martin, his former assistant, on Sunday. The schools have been discussing a series of neutral-court games, but neither West Virginia nor K-State officials could confirm a Wichita game Tuesday.
Why would this matchup be interesting?
Because it would be student vs. teacher. When Huggins was coaching Kansas State in 2006-07, Martin was his top assistant.
I have a feeling Kansas State fans can come up with some good Bob Huggins chants for this one.
