The Kansas Jayhawks basketball team finished the year 32-2 including the regular season and postseason Big 12 championship. KU beat Texas in the Big 12 tournament championship on Saturday so there's no question they're headed for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Selection Sunday is here and we are very close to finding out the 2011 NCAA bracket.
Kansas is a no doubt, slam dunk one seed as they've clearly been a cut above the rest this year. They lost two games during the season -- Kansas State and Texas -- but they also beat both those teams, too.
In my mind, they're the deepest team in the country with their eighth, ninth and tenth players likely starters on most other major conference teams.
They have the conference coach of the year in Bill Self and the conference player of the year in Marcus Morris.
Self's biggest accomplishment is taking all this talent and fitting it together perfectly. Considering the big names on this roster, I'm surprised there's not more bickering about playing time or anything like that (especially with Josh Selby). Self has been able to maintain the team concept throughout. Impressive job this year.
If you figure out a way to stop Marcus Morris, your next task is stopping his twin brother, Markieff. No one has as dominating a presence down low as these two.
The NCAA tournament bracket is moments away from being revealed and you should see KU sitting at the top.
