The Kansas Jayhawks basketball will more than likely wrap up a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament even if they lose this weekend in the Big 12 tournament. The latest bracketology from SB Nation has been released and, as expected, Kansas is a No. 1 seed.
The Jayhawks are first in the Southwest Conference and they're playing UNC-Asheville in the latest set of predictions. In this particular bracketology, KU has a relatively easy road to the elite eight.
First, they'd play UNC-Asheville. A win there would pit them against Old Dominion or Illinois. The sexier matchup there would be Illinois, Bill Self's former team. From there, Kansas could play No. 4 Louisville, No. 5 Arizona, No. 12 Marquette or No. 13 Milwaukee. The No. 2 seed in this bracket is Purdue while the third seed is North Carolina.
There are all sorts of great matchups for Kansas in this bracket, and most of them are winnable. They could face Self's former team in Illinois, Roy Williams and North Carolina or even...Bucknell. Yep, I'm sure some folks remember them.
This would be a good bracket for KU to make it out of. They're obviously one of, if not the strongest team in the country and they're built for lots of games in a short amount of time, like the NCAA tournament, because they're so deep.
