Kansas State came close to knocking off its second straight unbeaten but turnovers down the stretch and a gritty performance from Pierre Jackson had the Wildcats falling 75-73. Kansas State had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation but A.J. Walton stripped Angel Rodriguez on a drive to the bucket and the Wildcats couldn't get a shot off on the ensuing inbounds play.
The loss spoils a career night from Rodney McGruder who finished with 30 points and six rebounds. Jordan Henriquez added 12 points for the Wildcats who committed 19 turnovers in the two point loss.
Perry Jones III led Baylor with 17 points and eight rebounds. Brady Heslip and Quincy Ash each chipped in 13 points. Pierre Jackson came off the bench and finished with 10 points, 11 assists and five rebounds to help the Bears to the victory.
