The Kansas City Star is reporting that Kansas State plans to unveil a $75 million expansion to Bill Snyder Family stadium that would extend the press box across the entire west side of the stadium, as well as create new luxury boxes and club seating:
The expansion, which K-State athletic director John Currie has listed as his top priority for months and has spent time raising funds for since last summer, calls for a total renovation to the press box, a five-story structure that was built in 1993.
The official capacity won't change much given that the renovations are centered solely on press box and luxury level refurbishing, so the stadium would keep its 50,000 seat capacity (the record attendance at Snyder Family Stadium is 53,811 for a 2000 game against Nebraska. Since 1990, the Wildcats are 113-26-1 at home.
