Kansas State Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein has been selected as a finalist for the 2012 Senior CLASS Award. He had originally been nominated for the award after his strong start to the season, but the 10 finalists were not named until Thursday.

The award goes to one NCAA Division I FBS senior who has made achievements in the four categories of 'community, classroom, character and competition'. Klein was named to the AFCA Good Works Team in September and volunteers regularly around the Manhattan community.

Some of the other big names in the final pool for the award include USC quarterback Matt Barkley and Landry Jones of Oklahoma.

Klein has helped lead the Wildcats to a 6-0 start with 1,074 yards and seven touchdowns, adding 10 touchdowns on the ground as well. The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 4 by the BCS as they look forward to a game against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
