ESPN's Phil Steele predicts that No. 14 Texas Tech will upset No. 3 Kansas State when the teams match up Saturday at 3:30 p.m.:
Don't forget that just last season Kansas State was in this same spot, at 7-0 while hosting a top-15 team. The Wildcats ended up getting beat 58-17 by Oklahoma in that game. While I do not think Texas Tech is capable of blowing out Kansas State, I do think the Red Raiders will pull out the win and in the process give Tuberville win No. 7 over a top-5 team.
Kansas State enters Saturday's game at 7-0 (4-0). The Wildcats haven't seen much adversity this season, scoring at least 50 points in four games this season. Kansas State is coming off a 55-14 win over No. 13 West Virginia last weekend.
Texas Tech has won two in a row and is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big 12. The Red Raiders are coming off a 56-53 win over No. 23 TCU last week. The only loss Texas Tech has suffered this season came against No. 17 Oklahoma on Oct. 6. Kansas State is the fourth ranked opponent Texas Tech will play this month.
Both teams feature high-powered offenses. They both average exactly 42.9 points per game. Defensively, Kansas State might have the edge. The Wildcats allow 16.1 points per game while the Red Raiders allow 21.6.
At OddsShark.com, Kansas State is favored by 7 1/2 points.
