NCAA Football Rankings, Week 10: Wildcats up to No. 3 in AP Poll after statement win

The Kansas State Wildcats destroyed a ranked team in Texas Tech at home this week to prove that they belong near the top of the rankings.

If you didn't know who Collin Klein was before the season started, chances are you do now. The Kansas State quarterback has led his team to the No. 3 spot in this week's AP Poll after throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for two more in the Wildcats' 55-24 beatdown of the now-No. 20 Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Klein finished the game with 83 yards on the ground and 233 in the air and did not throw an interception.

Now at No. 3, it's only fair to put the Wildcats in the National Championship game discussion, even if Alabama (No. 1) and Oregon (No. 2) are the leading contenders to meet in the season's final game. The Wildcats were also No. 3 in the most recent BCS poll.

Florida, who had been ranked second in the BCS and third in the AP Poll dropped all the way to eighth after losing to Georgia this week. The Bulldogs are now No. 7.

Rutgers dropped out of the poll after losing to Kent State for the Scarlet Knights' first loss of the season.
